Brief history & organizational structure and jurisdiction  of SIB Coop. 

            The special Investigation Branch Coop. was created in the year of 1971 vide G.O. No. Coop(kha)Deptt.No.3019/12C-145/16/69 dated June 29th. 1971 to investigate the cases of misappropriation & embezzlement of Govt. funds in cooperative Deptt., as an abundances of investigations pertaining to various coop. societies, were pending with Distt. police till 1970-71 and district police was busy in routine work and could not get the sufficient time to investigate such complicated &technical investigations. Thus Govt. setup this branch and attached it with crime branch CID.,U.P.

            Vide G.O. No. 1249/12C-108/76 dated 29th July, 1997 and G.O. No. 7.49-2-108./76 dated 25th June,2003 limit and jurisdiction of the cases has been indicated.

  1. The cases registered after the complete enquiry by coop. deptt.
  2. The cases registered after the examination of special audit reports prepared by coop. deptt.
  3. The cases registered by the SIB Coop., CID.,UP
  4. The cases which are sent by Govt. to SIB Coop.

The cases mentioned above at sr.no. 1 and 2 will be investigated by this unit if the embezzlement amount is more than Rs.1,00,000=00 or involving more than one district.

The HQ. of SIB., Coop. UP is located at Lucknow under the control of Supdt.of Police, SIB., Coop.,UP. The supervisory and administrative control of this unit is vested in A.D.G., Coop./ I.G. Coop./DIG., Coop. CID.,UP., Lucknow. The SIB. Coop.,  has nine regional offices situated at Lucknow, Bareilly, Agra, Jhansi, Meerut, Faizabad, Gorakhpur, Kanpur and Varanasi each under a Regional Officer/Dy.S.P.

            Following post are sanctioned  for SIB Coop. at present under the Cooperative Budget.
